What sound card do I have?

The sound card enables the transfer of audio information from the computer or laptop to an audio device like headphones or speakers.

How to determine the sound card

If you want to find out what sound card does your computer have, there are many ways through which you can easily identify it.

Physical identification of sound cards

One simple way to determine the sound card model number is by physical identification of the sound card. Simply open your computer case and look at the sound card inside.

If your laptop or PC has an integrated sound card, the speakers will be plugged into the motherboard. However, if you have a dedicated sound card, the speakers will be plugged into a card in a PCI slot.

A PCI sound card has detailed information about the manufacturer and model number information printed. However, an integrated sound card does not have any information available.
