Roblox players use various words in roleplaying games or otherwise., which are now considered a part of Roblox slang. The term AFK is one such slang we will address in this section.

What does AFK mean in Roblox

The word AFK basically means “away from keyboard.” Roblox players use the expression to convey when they take a break from the game.

While abusive language will get you banned forever, you can use certain abbreviations. For instance, DM means direct message, RDM for random deathmatch, AA for Admin abuse, etc. The term AFK is so commonly used that chat filter lets it through easily.

Another term used for this purpose is BRB which means be right back. Do not confuse it with BBG, which means baby girl.

When playing any online game, you can use the term in small and capital forms. Since it is regarded as slang, it is advised not to use it in formal conversations.

Why use AFK in Roblox games

Often players use the term AFK in a joking manner, but you can use it to your advantage. If you are tired from sitting for too long or want to give your eyes a rest, you can use AFK to take a break.

How to perform AFK

If you want to perform AFK, you can exclusively send a private message to players. You can use spam messages for the purpose too. However, if it disturbs fellow gamers, they can express frustration by kicking you off the game.

How long can you stay AFK in the Roblox game?

In most roleplaying games, if you want to go AFK from your laptop or PC, your avatar will perform the required task and become active after some time. If there is any movement on your keyboard, your avatar will begin to move. However, if no activity is observed for 20 minutes, you may be removed from the game.
