What GPU does the PS5 have?
The PlayStation 5 has an AMD Radeon RDNA 2 GPU, which has a 2.23 GHz variable frequency and, as 10.28 teraflops in theoretical performance. It also has the hardware to support ray tracing in high quantities.
What’s the equivalent for a gaming PC?
Finding the GPU equivalent of a PS5 in a gaming PC graphics card is not easy nor fair, as the consoles games can be better optimized to run on the Ps5.
Well optimized console games will run better on the PS5 than on a near identical PC (spec-wise), as console IO and APIs are streamlined to target the exact hardware specs of the PS5.
However, the closest GPU match would be somewhere between an overclocked RX5700 XT and the RX6700.
The Rx6700 has roughly the same compute unit count and clock speeds are pretty close too. The 6700 XT also uses RDNA 2.0 instead of RDNA 1.5. So theoretically it exceeds the power of the Radeon RDNA 2 GPU of the PS5.

Some people claim that the GPU in the PS5 is at least as good as the RTX3070, but that’s far from the truth. If you want to compare it to a Nvidia Card, the closest would probably be the RTX2070 / RTX2070S.
