Do you have too many apps on your iPhone, and you're struggling to keep them organized? Thankfully, iPhones have the ability to create folders for organizing apps. This makes it easier to find the app you're looking for or store related apps together. In this article, we will be discussing how to create folders on your iPhone.
Step by Step
Step 1: Tap and Hold the Home Screen
First, tap and hold the home screen until all of the app icons start to jiggle and a “-” symbol appears in the corner of each icon on your homescreen. This will allow you to move and create folder with the apps.
Step 2: Move your app on top of another app to create a folder
Once the icons are jiggling, you can start creating folders by dragging and dropping one app onto another. When you do this, a new folder will appear with both of the apps inside. You can now also enter a name for the folder, for example “streaming” – where all your streaming apps like netflix, hulu, amazon prime, spotify or disney plus are located.
Step 3: Rename the folder anytime
If you forgot to enter a suitable name, you can always rename the folder. To do this, simply tap on the folder name at the top of your screen and type in a new name for the folder.
Step 4: Sort the folder
You can also move your folder around on the home screen as you please. Simply drag and drop it into position where you want it to go. You can also move it onto another home screen if you wish.
Step 5: Move apps out of the folder
You can also move apps out of a folder at any time. To do this, open up your folder and then tap and hold any app icon until they start jiggling again. Then drag them out onto the home screen to get them out of the folder.
Step 6: Delete a folder
Finally, if you ever want to delete an entire folder, simply open it up and drag all of its contents out onto the home screen or other folders. Once there are no apps left in the folder, it will automatically be deleted from your phone.
