Roblox has been around for quite a while. However, it has emerged as one of the most popular games in recent years. To keep the Roblox players engaged, game developers continue to add features to it.
The recent feature added to the list that has been observed in the past few months is the ability to change display names. Let’s look at what it means, how it is different from the username, and how you can get a display name.
Display name and username
When you sign up for a new Roblox account, you need to enter a username. Your Roblox display name is the one that appears for your character in the game and chats etc.
While previously, both the display name and username were the same, you can now change display name in Roblox for free. However, if you want to change your username, you have to pay 1000 Rubex for it.
How to change display name in Roblox
So, if you want to change your display name, here is how you can do so.
- Go to the Roblox official website
- Now log into your Roblox account
- Open your account settings page
- Click on the gear icon. It is in the upper right corner of the page.
- Now click on the edit icon to change display name.
- Once you have changed the display name, press save, and you are set.

Your display name on Roblox must be between 3 to 20 characters. While other players will see your new display name, your previous username will also be visible. You cannot have the same display name as any other. It must be unique, so you may want to search a little.
