How to Change Your App Icons: A Step-By-Step Guide

With the introduction of iOS 14, iPhone users can now customize their home screen and app icons. Here's how:

Step 1: Download the Shortcuts App

First, go to the App Store and download the Shortcuts app if you don't have it already.

Step 2: Open the App and Create a New Shortcut

After installing the app, open it and tap on the ‘+' icon to create a new shortcut.

Step 3: Add Action

Choose ‘Add Action' and then tap on ‘Scripting'. Next, select ‘Open App' from the options.

Step 4: Choose the App

Tap on ‘Choose' and select the application for which you want to change the icon.

Step 5: Add to Home Screen

Tap next on the ‘…' in the upper right corner. Choose ‘Add to Home Screen'. Here you can select an image to replace the app icon and name it.

Step 6: Save

Tap on ‘Add' on the upper right corner to save the changes. You will now see the new app icon on your home screen.

For Users

Changing app icons on Android requires the use of launcher . Here's the process:

Step 1: Download a Launcher App

Go to Google Play Store and download a popular launcher like Nova Launcher or Apex Launcher.

Step 2: Set Up the Launcher

After downloading, open the app and follow the instructions to set it as your phone's default launcher.

Step 3: Change App Icon

Long press on the app for which you want to change the icon. In the menu that appears, tap ‘Edit'. Now you can choose a new image for the app icon.

Step 4: Save Changes

Press done to save your changes. The new icon will now appear on your home screen.
