Adding a Temporary Profile Picture on Facebook: A Simple Process

How to Add a Temporary Profile Picture on Facebook

Hi, I’m Tracy! Let me help you understand an exciting Facebook feature: how to add a temporary profile picture. This unique aspect allows you to substitute your permanent profile picture with a temporary one for a certain period. Let’s dive right in.

Steps to Add a Temporary Profile Picture on Facebook

Step 1: Go to Your Facebook Profile

Open the Facebook app on your mobile device or visit facebook.com on your computer browser and sign into your Facebook account. Click on your profile photo.

Step 2: Click on Update Profile Picture

Hover over your profile photo and click on the camera icon appearing on the bottom right. Select “Update Profile Picture” from the dropdown menu.

Step 3: Select the ‘Make Temporary’ Option

After selecting your new photo, click on the ‘Make Temporary’ option in the bottom left corner before confirming your changes. This option allows you to set a period (1 hour, 1 day, 1 week or custom) after which your original profile photo will be reinstated.

Step 4: Confirm the Change

Once you choose the time period, click ‘Save’ or ‘Apply’. Congratulations! You’ve just set your temporary profile picture on Facebook.

Mission Accomplished!

With those straightforward steps, you can now change your profile picture to a temporary one, allowing you to share your life’s special moments or express solidarity with a cause without permanently changing your profile picture.
