How to Add a Vertical Line in Google Docs
Hello, I’m Tracy and in this article, I will explain how to add a vertical line in Google Docs.
Adding a Vertical Line Using a Table
Open your Google Docs, click on the ‘Insert’ tab located at the top menu, scroll down to hover over ‘Table’ and then select a 1×1 table. An empty square will appear on your document.
Adjust the line thickness by clicking on the table, then head up to the top menu and click the ‘Border width’ option. Select the desired thickness for your vertical line.
Change the direction of the line to vertical. Adjust the dimensions of the table to fit your page. You can do this by dragging the border of the table.
Adding a Vertical Line Using the Drawing Tool
Click on ‘Insert’ on the top menu, then select ‘Drawing’ and ‘New’. This will open the Drawing dialog box.
Click on the ‘Line’ tool, and choose ‘Line’. Draw a straight line in the dialog box.
Once the line is drawn, click on ‘Save and Close’. The line will be inserted into your Google Docs document.
There you have it. Two simple methods on how to add a vertical line in Google Docs. Both using the table option and the drawing tool option are easy and effective.
