Looking after your fishing equipment is paramount to extend the life of it over the longterm. Fishing reels are no exception, in fact, with the amount of moving parts involved, and the often hostile environment that they do their work, there is arguably no piece of kit that requires more maintenance.

It does not need to be a full strip down and repair (although we have in-store services for this if required). Some simple preventative maintenance such as salt removal, bearing oiling, and grease application where necessary is all that is needed to greatly improve the lifespan of any fishing reel.

Well known brands such as Inox, Lanox, Mako Oil, Daiwa, Shimano and Protecta all produce fantastic, universal lubricants and protectants that should be an essential part of anyone's fishing kit.
